Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search box is sent to the third-party company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. Greene County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to the site may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the correspondence. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

It publishes reference information about official custodians, including the Greene County Sheriff, criminal courts, DCJS, and the New York State Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. A query submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy terms, retention rules, and sharing practices. Those practices are not controlled by Greene County Criminal History. Review the applicable provider policy before entering information.

Links may lead to the Greene County government, New York courts, DCJS, other state agencies, or outside services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Advertising providers may also use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and select ads.
