Official Greene County records must come from the office that created or maintains them. The contacts below route court files to the Catskill courthouse, Sheriff and jail material to Coxsackie, personal rap sheets to DCJS, and police reports to the agency that wrote them.

This Is Not a Government Office. Greene County Criminal History is privately operated. It cannot retrieve or correct records, conduct official checks, or accept a New York sealing application.

Need an Official Record?

Use the custodian that matches the Greene County record:

  • County Court files: Greene Multi-Bench, 320 Main Street, Catskill, NY 12414; 518-625-3160; Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Town or village cases: contact the justice court that heard the matter, since the County Court counter does not hold every local docket
  • Sheriff, booking, and jail records: Greene County Sheriff, 45 Haverly Memorial Drive, Coxsackie, NY 12051; 518-943-3300
  • Personal New York rap sheets: use the fingerprint-based DCJS Personal Record Review process
  • Police incident reports: request the file from the Sheriff, State Police, or municipal police agency that created it
  • Record sealing: begin with the court of conviction or disposition; the Sheriff and County Clerk cannot seal a court record

The Sheriff does not publish a separately named records division. Use its Freedom of Information request channel, 45 Haverly Memorial Drive, Coxsackie, NY 12051, 518-943-3300, for non-routine Sheriff copies. Call before visiting or sending payment.
